Phone: Virgin Mobile Switch_Back 2 (Wild Card)

The new Virgin Mobile Switch_Back, AKA the “Wild Card”, has been acknowledge with it’s manual being posted on Virgin Mobiles websites..

The new switch_back features blue tooth and mostly the same features as the original switch_back.. The addition of blue tooth to this phone is proof that Virgin Mobile is finally catching up with the other prepaid service providers in basic features.

The new Wildcard is expected within the next 2 months, but information from virgin mobile has been vague, and the Wild Card has yet to be added to Kyoceras website. The Wild Card is rumored to be the M1000 with a different case, which would explain the missing phone on Kyocera’s website. The M1000 sports a very similar Read more

New Virgin Mobile Phone - Super Slice

The US Starcom “Slice” is about to get replaced with the “Super Slice”… The super slice brings a better design and some new features to an already succesful phone line. The slice is one of Virgin Mobile’s most popular phones, due to it’s price, features and reliability.

And it isn’t plagued with the problems of many of the other phones in their line up..

The best feature of the new slice, in my opinion, is that it has Read more

Virgin Mobile Aloha

The Virgin Mobile Aloha, the first LG phone to be offered by VM, has made it’s first appearance on Virgin Mobiles website.. This shows that both it and the Super Slice are ready for release

Don’t know what the Aloha is yet?

The Virgin Mobile Aloha is the first LG phone offered by VM. The phone lacks an exterior screen like both the Oystr and Marbl. Hopefully this will be like a reliable Oystr or Marbl and lack all of the failures of the two aforementioned phones. Read more

  • 1.3 Megapixel Camera
  • Video Recorder
  • Bluetooth
  • MEDIA player
  • GPS Locator (will probably not be available with virgin mobile)
  • QWERTY Keypad

Switch_Back vs Slider Sonic

The current top of the line phones at virgin mobile are still the Slider Sonic and the Switch_Back… but which one is right for you?

The Switch_Back is sold as a side hinged clamshell with a full QWERTY keyboard for texting and sharing pictures with it’s camera and flash.. It’s one of the few phones offered by other cell phone providers, so accessories are easy to find and getting a replacement charger isn’t a never ending quest. But the camera is horrible, and the keypad is very small and makes a bad texting platform unless you have very small hands..

As one person said:

“It’s pretty darned small, to be honest. I have to crook my thumbs and practically type on my nails. It’s not too bad for me, but I’m a female. If you’re a man, you’d probably have more trouble properly pressing the buttons.”
