i just bought the wild card at target, and i love it. its just like the switchback, only its smaller and it has a way better camera and resolution. i think this is better than the bulky switchback.

It is a virgin mobile phone, so it will work with the phone cards. I’m not exactly sure as to when it’s coming out. I have a contact at virgin mobile I can talk to tomorrow for you, they should have something on their employee site giving the exact dates. I need to check in and get the scoop on VM anyways.

Oh I saw this on the Virgin Mobile today and I found this site cause I wanted to know more..I got super excited since I am on the Virgin Mobile plan, and I just love there phones. I mean this is the best phone yet!.I mean it comes out on Oct. 24th it’s just almost over a week till it gets in stores.I’mma be like the first customer.Since I think about 1,000 outta 10,600 people in my city uses Virgin Mobile. wildcard is out. i just bought it yesterday @ target. go to target.com it says that it will be available in 2-5 weeks. but click on check store avail. and type ur zipcode and it tells you what target stores have it in stock.

I am a VG Mobile customer now, but my phone is bulky and I really don’t like it in my pocket; it’s HUGE! the best phone looks like the Wildcard, but I really don’t know. people are like “i love it!” but what’s so great about it? and also do the buttons make those clicking sounds when you press them (including the keypad buttons too) ?

I bought the Wild Card Friday from a local RadioShack. To answer some of the questions that have been asked:

1. Yes, it would be worth upgrading from the Switchback. It’s much better.
2. Yes, it can get on sites like myspace, but it’s best to go on the wap/mobile version of the site. I’ve successfully replied to mail, accepted friend requests, etc. from my Wild Card.
3. IMO, it’s not very bulky.
4. It makes almost no sound when you’re typing. My little sister always complains about how “loud” I’m typing on my Sidekick but when I type on my WC she doesn’t say a word about noise.
5. No, it doesn’t record videos (yet?) but it does have streaming music from Headliner, which was a pretty nice surprise!

where does this phone get reception? Verizon gets service like EVERYWHERE, but my Virgin Mobile now only gets service in very certain places, but not everywhere I need it to. I just don’t know if it works in most places…

Have you tried going on VM’s website and cheching for coverage? With previous VM phones, I lost reception A LOT but now with the WC, I’ve lost reception maybe once that I can think of.

I am a new Wildcard owner. I have set a picture that I took with the phone as my wallpaper background. Unfortunately, it does not fill the entire space of the LCD screen and there are annoying white bars on both sides of the image. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

the only thing i HATE about virgin mobile so far is..
everything moves kinda slow…like the texting mainly.
but its still good.. i got the marble.

I have the Wildcard too; I actually bought mine at a Best Buy last weekend. I do not think I have tapped into all of it capabilities yet, but I will get there. The only knock I have on the Wildcard is that the Qwerty keyboard buttons are slippery and made out of a hard-coated plastic. I used to own the Switchback and the buttons, though smaller, were relatively slip-resistant. Outside of the keyboard issue, I love the Wildcard.

No thw buttons aren’t noisy… My sister hears EVERYTHING but I can sit right next to her and type on my WC and she doesn’t complain. The keys are pretty much silent!

What kind of txting capability does it give you? My switchback only gives me 125 characters. Practicly nothin. Does this phone give more than that? or even multiple pages like some phones? If it does then I’m getting it. The only reason I got the switchback was for the keyboard and was disapointed when I found that its pretty worthless with only 125 characters per txt. Most of the new VM phones do allow internet browsing but anything outside of VMXL you have to pay for. I think its $1.99 a day or something. Then there is the $5.99 for a week, I believe.

DO not buy the internet surf the web packs its not worth it all it does is let u go on yahoo search and if something about ur search comes up it dosent let u see it its a waste of money dont do it i called and complained and the advisor said i was lying but then i called again and another lady was really nice she added the 5 bucks and doubled it for me having trouble so dont buy it unless u want to get told ur lieing but every now and then u get a nice advisor hope i helped

I just bought the wild card. My first thought when playing with the phone for the first time ever was… WHY DO THEY HAVE THE SAME SOFTWARE AS THE OLDER PHONES?!?!

The internet does do very well on smaller webpages. The camara is pretty good for a camara phone. The battery life on it isn’t quite up to par for me since i’m in the office for about 10hrs a day. Its pretty much dead by the time I make it home.

The wild card is pretty much the same as the lingo/m1000 by cricket on the out side, but internaly it has nothing alike with the lingo.

I wish the buttons on the keypad would of been a little larger.

VM gets service anywhere Sprint/PCS does… They use the same towers… I live by sprint.. I once went deep sea fishing with my a900 and got reception.

i have the wild card and i love it but virgin mobile is &^%%^*# me off with the plan it said i need $.14 to keep my $60 plan to work i had $61.35 and i had to switch to a lower plan but next month i will switch it back! other than that i love it, it is cheap, fast and i just love my phone the bluetooth is kinda ticking me off to but yea! try spending under $100 a month on your phone for free texting and a plan that is very easy to use! hehe

DO NOT GET THIS PHONE i bought it its settings are just like the marbl’s and the phone dosent recieve text messages half the time when u flip it open it sqweeks and the camera is 100% horrible the battery lasts for about not even a day i spend more time charging then texting and when its on 20 cent talk it gets expensive fast they charged me 1.67 for a call to a verizon in my area code do not buy it i have droped my wild card once and its all screwed up and the worst part is i had the 14.99 plan and i was 2 minutes away from 100 and they put me on a 69.99 plan and screwed my account up do not get this phone get a prepaid verizon they are the best phones cell phones have to offer

i just bought a wildcard the other day, got it from bestbuy, it was onsale, and on top of that, i had a shitload of coupons, lol. i only paid $77 and its awesome. sometimes i feel like its a little cheap, but everyone who looks at it thinks its cool. you get good coverage because virginmobile=sprint’s network. however, mobile to mobile does not include sprint’s customers. the 6.99 plan for me isnt working, im about to go to the $10 one, but really its just like the enV with a tinier screen. real cute, and accessories are easy to find on ebay.

Ok The Wildcard is nice.. the texting is fast. if u pay 20 dollarz a month u get free pic messaging, txt, aim, yahoo messenger, and yahoo and aim email. i think its like… 6 dollarz and u can use the internet, yes u can go on google and youtube and whatnot. myspace…not really cuz u can see ur inbox but not reply and cant go on pplz pagez. ummm ive looked EVERYWHERE and the wildcard is not compatible with any website to download free ringtones, wallpapers, etc., only the slider is. the phone is cute.. the keys are silent and it goes pretty fast. the camera is not that bad if u take it in the light. but if theres not a lot of light, it looks… a little blurry but its not that big of a deal. SMALL ASS SCREEN. i pay 59.99 and i get free minutes after 7 nights and weekedns and 600 anytime minutes. not that bad. the phone is cute!! i would recommend it… my only problem is not being able to get free stuff for it and the ringtones from them are like… 2.50! oh and bluetooth only workz for the headset…

I have the VM Wild Card. The bluetooth is only for headsets; it does not support file transfers.

The web browser should be able to access any site that isn’t too loaded down with Flash, Java, etc. It should have no trouble accessing wap.myspace.com.

I doubt the Wild Card can watch YouTube videos.

You do get charged for using IM. If you are a heavy texter or IMer, it behooves you to sign up for the unlimited text messages for $10/month when you pick your calling plan. That way, you don’t have to keep track of your messages.
