I’ve been seeing it everywhere lately, and having had worked for a 3rd party company associated with Virgin Mobile USA, and having known many people in VM’s call centers, I can tell you that the monthly promotional codes that are floating around are false…
Most sites, and people, will tell you to call in and give this code: 102007
That would be the october monthly promo code, and for example 112007 would be novembers, and 122007 would be decembers.
These codes ONLY work if you have not used your phone in awhile and virgin mobile has sent you the offer. Their system records the offers you have been sent (some promotional codes do not require you having been sent something).. The fact is, unless that code is listed in their system for you, your PROBABLY not going to get the free $10 top up.
There are also sites that will recommend that you call in and try to get the promotion. Yes.. It does work SOMETIMES, but you have to get a rep that really just doesn’t want to argue with you. See, on every call a Virgin Mobile rep gets, they have up to $10 to give to a customer if they are complaining about service, ringtones not download, etc etc. So technically, they can give you the money by clicking 2 buttons, but that doesn’t mean that they are going to.
Also, they record how often you get free credits from reps. You can use other promotional codes as frequently as you like, but the simple fact is that unless you want to argue with reps all night until you get lucky, those codes probably are not going to work for you!

they will charge you daily if you use the internet to download a ringtone or anything else on the internet. You will have to call them to tell them to deactivate the internet to quit charging you a daily fee.

Some of these people are just a bunch of worthless idiots. I’ll certainly use a promo code in a second if Virgin sends me one, but I’m not about to waste my time calling a call center and harrassing some guy just to try to scam him out of air time. And for what? $10 worth of calls? How cheap can you be? If you can’t afford to spend the $10 yourself, you don’t need to be talking on the phone. You need to be getting up off your lazy ass and filling out job applications.

The first post here has the title,
“Virgin Mobile monthly promo code scam”.
It isn’t really a “scam”, is it? A scam implies that someone is profiting by doing something fraudulent.
In fact, the top-up codes just don’t work, but there is nothing fraudulent about that and no one is profiting by posting them here.
Perhaps the title should read,
“Virgin Mobile monthly promo code hoax” or something similar.
