Boost / Virgin Mobile’s W385 “Saber Tooth”

The Motorolla W385 “Saber Tooth” had been rumored to be a future Virgin Mobile phone, but it is now appearing on Boost Mobile’s site and there is still no mention of Virgin Mobile USA getting the W385, which is a total shame as I don’t believe Virgin Mobile has ever released a Motorolla. Though the W385 would not be a big loss to Virgin Mobile, as it is only a thick tamed down Razr in my opinion.

EDIT (10/11/2007): The W385 IS coming out for Virgin Mobile in the near future. Some employees have said that on their ordering system, replacement parts and accessories are listed for the Saber_Tooth… As I once worked there, I can tell you that once a phone has been listed in the ordering system, it is usually available within 3-6 weeks.

Virgin Mobile will also be getting the new Switch_Back 2 soon (the WILD CARD), which is going to be a great phone and really add something worthwhile to Virgin Mobile USA’s line up. Still I personally have no idea why Virgin Mobile USA phones as a whole are of such low quality when you compare the phones that other divisions of VM are selling. Most othere divisions of VM are selling phones that you would find on T-Mobiles lineup or any major cellular providers lineup. With the Saber_Tooth and the Wild_Card, it looks like Virgin Mobile might actually have a competitive line up of phones developing.

And what is up with all of these Brown Motorolla phones these days? I don’t know who Boost and Motorolla have promoting their new phones, but they really need to re-evaluate their UPS color scheme 🙂

The W385 has GPS, 4x digital zoom camera, wireless web, and bluetooth. It’s a pretty nice phone, and has some great features. It’s a lot like the Razr and the phone is pretty light weight despite it’s thickness as compared to some of the newer thin style flip phones.

  1. This design is steller! You definitely know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!|
