CAN'T ACTIVATE PHONE - Virgin Mobile

i bought a virgin mobile cell phone from target and i left my box and receipt at my friends house. when i got home i tried to activate it but it wouldn't work. they said the phone was not unblocked and to contact target. i went to target and they claimed there was nothing they could do without the receipt so i again callled virgin mobile. they said they can not do anything and that the store had to unblock the phone. so not i have spent almost 100 dollars on a phone that is totally useless. the receipt and box are gone and im out my money!
